This initial meeting gives us a chance to meet and get to know each other, as well as cover the items below.
Dixon Taylor Construction will provide the client with an estimated price for the project as accurately as possible based on the specifications at hand within one to two weeks after the initial meeting.
The client has the choice to either modify an existing floor plan or have a custom floor plan drawn up. We will work together via email until we have all plans and drawings finalized and accepted.
This is the time to form an agreement; the client and Dixon Taylor Construction sign the three documents that form the "contract":
The client provides a pre-approved letter from an approved lending institution.
The client places a deposit of 10% of the purchase price (or other agreed upon amount) with Dixon Taylor Construction. If the client is providing the construction financing then no deposit is required.
At this point the client will meet with Josh, their project manager, and receive "the Playbook". The goal of the Playbook is to present the client with a valuable tool that makes the home building experience one they will fondly remember.
We've heard the stories from clients of how the process with their previous home builder was unorganized and often disastrous. Many said it was a cause of extra stress that could have been avoided with adequate preparation and information. The Playbook is tailored to each clients' home and breaks the "selection process" into manageable steps that will not overwhelm them. The Playbook includes the instructions for what the clients' roles and responsibilities are at each step of the home building process. It provides instructions on what selections (ex. Cabinetry, appliances) have to be made and their due date as well as the trade partners that need to be met with and their contact information. The accurate and timely information that the client provides us with via the Playbook will be critical in helping us exceed expectations for a new and beautiful home.
Dixon Taylor Construction will submit all necessary documents to the city or relevant government entity, and purchase all required building permits, as well as pay necessary fees for utilities installations.
Now we break ground and begin construction as outlined in the Playbook!
